Back to Work Participants rappel down 300 Delaware Avenue during the Over the Edge 2026 fundraiser supported by Showorks with AV production and livestream coverage.

Over the Edge 2026

Overview

Showorks provided video production and livestream support for Over the Edge, a Special Olympics Delaware fundraiser held at 300 Delaware Avenue in downtown Wilmington. Participants raised funds for the opportunity to rappel down the side of the building while friends, family members, donors, and supporters followed the experience from the ground and online.

The Challenge

In addition to supporting the event’s production needs, Showorks worked alongside local students, giving them an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a live production environment. Over the Edge was not a traditional event with the action centered on a stage. Participants were descending the exterior of a downtown building throughout the day, requiring a production approach built around an unusual setting and a constantly moving focal point. The Showorks team needed to:

  • Capture each participant’s rappel clearly and consistently
  • Maintain dependable video and livestream coverage throughout the full event
  • Give remote supporters a way to experience the fundraiser as it happened
  • Coordinate production in an active outdoor environment
  • Incorporate local students into the production while providing guidance and maintaining consistent execution
The goal was to make the experience accessible to a wider audience without distracting from the participants, the fundraising mission, or the activity taking place on-site.

The Outcome

The production helped extend Over the Edge beyond the people gathered in downtown Wilmington. Supporters who could not attend in person were still able to follow the rappels and share in the experience, helping connect a broader audience to the event and the work of Special Olympics Delaware. The event resulted in:

  • Consistent video and livestream coverage throughout the day
  • Greater access for families, donors, and supporters watching remotely
  • Clear coverage of participants as they completed their rappels
  • Hands-on learning opportunities for local students
  • A dependable production structure for an event with an unconventional format and location
By combining technical support with real-world learning opportunities, Showorks helped document a memorable fundraising experience while supporting the event’s larger community impact.
